The Announcements / News section allows the administrator to enter two different categories (Announcements / News) of information. This information is displayed internally to all users in the Work Desk and, optionally, to all end users in the Self-Service Portal.

Note: Users with the “Manager” role also have direct access to this information and can edit it in the System Administration shortcut area. |

Announcements
Announcements are important pieces of information that usually have a time reference. One example is the announcement of a system maintenance for an IT service or asset, which may then not be available for a certain time. For the time reference, you can fill the field visible from/visible to. It is also possible to enter only a "from" or only a "to".
Furthermore, the checkbox "Show in Self-Service Portal" can be used to decide whether this information should only be visible for the internal users of the ticket system in the work desk or also for all users of the Self-Service Portal, if the administrator has the information area displayed there accordingly.

News
The information type "News" is identical to "Announcements" in terms of functionality, but its content is usually broader and relates more to general information, such as for a bulletin board. The administrator can define separate views for Announcements and News for the Self-Service Portal. Internally, these two information types are distinguished by different colors.
