Announcements/News

Access to this function is reserved for the manager (or administrator) role. Here, information can be created that is to be displayed either only internally for users in the work desk, or also externally shown in the Self-Service Portal. The manager can create this information using the "New" button and maintain the contents and parameters as required. The "Delete" function deletes the information completely again. Alternatively, you can set whether the information should no longer be visible during a process. This way, you can use information as a template for later publications.

 

The information is divided into two categories:

Announcements

Announcements are important pieces of information that usually have a time reference. An example is the announcement of a system maintenance for an IT service or for an asset, which may then not be available for a certain time. For a time limitation of an announcement, you can fill the fields "Visible from" and "Visible until". You can also fill only one field.

 

In addition, you can use the check mark next to "Show in Self-Service Portal" to decide whether this information should only be visible for the internal users of the ticket system in the work desk or additionally for all users of the SSP. However, this is only possible if the administrator has the information area displayed there.

News

The "News" information type is identical to the "Announcements" information type in terms of its scope of functions. The "News" information type is usually broader in content and relates more to general information and is comparable to a bulletin board. The administrator can define separate views for the information types "Announcements" and "News" for the Self-Service Portal. Internally, these two information types are distinguished by different symbols.
