Currently, locations only have an informational character and can be used to determine the defined location of a company, person or asset in case on-site operations are necessary.
Locations can be created manually or automatically via an import and assigned to organizational units.
In addition to a mandatory title, a location must be assigned to at least one top org. unit, but can be assigned to multiple org. units at the same time, if there are more than one at a location (usually, if you also map departments as org. units or create larger company complexes). Furthermore, a list of persons can be assigned to a location.
The other information about address data is optional.
